The film takes place in Egypt, where Sergeant Nick Morton and his commanding officer, Colonel Greenway (Marwan Kenzari), are on a mission to take down a group of terrorists. While searching for a terrorist leader, they stumble upon an ancient tomb, where they awaken Ahmanet, who has been entombed for thousands of years. Ahmanet was once a princess who sought to overthrow her father, the pharaoh, and claim the throne for herself. However, her plans were thwarted, and she was entombed alive.
