2. Safety Precautions
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear goggles, hearing protection, long pants, sturdy boots, and gloves. Bystanders: Keep people and animals at least 15 meters (50 feet) away. Kickback: Be aware of blade thrust if using a metal blade. Always use the correct deflector for the attachment. Fuel Safety: Mix fuel in a well-ventilated area. Do not use pure gasoline – engine seizure will result. Use fresh fuel (less than 30 days old) to avoid carburetor clogs.
4. Starting Procedure Cold Start:
Place the unit on the ground. Set the choke lever to Closed (•) . Pump the fuel primer bulb 5–7 times. Pull the starter rope briskly 2–4 times until the engine fires briefly. Set the choke to Open (○) . Pull the starter rope again – the engine should run. Squeeze the throttle trigger once to disengage the starting throttle.
Warm Start: Open choke, pull starter rope (no priming needed). 5. Operation & Trimming Tips
Cutting height: Adjust using the shoulder strap – the trimmer should hover just above ground. Swing direction: Always cut from right to left to direct debris away from you. Advancing line: Tap the cutting head on the ground while running at full throttle to feed new trimmer line. Blade use: If equipped with a metal blade, never cut above waist height.
