The standard game requires you to kill Asgore so that Flowey can resurrect him as Photoshop Flowey. It is a plot device. The simulator, however, forces the player to become a grief counselor. You have to listen to Asgore’s monologue about his dead children. You have to dodge his attacks without malice. It asks the player: Are you willing to bleed for someone else’s emotional trauma?
