The region mismatch is the #1 cause. Ensure your ISO is NTSC (USA) if your save is NTSC. Also, ensure the save file is for God of War 1 , not God of War 2 . If the problem persists, manually format the memory card inside AetherSX2 (Boot a BIOS file, go to Browser > Memory Card > Format), then import the save.
