Vivian Velez (real name: Maria Victoria Velez) was one of Philippine cinema’s most daring actresses during the 1980s and early 1990s. Known for her sensual appeal, she starred in a string of sexy comedies and dramas, including Virgin People , Bukas... May Pangarap , and Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas . Velez was part of the golden age of “soft-core” films that thrived under the liberalized movie ratings system following the downfall of Marcos.

Rodolfo “Rudy” G. Fariñas is a long-time politician from Ilocos Norte. He served as Mayor of Laoag City (1980–1986, and again 1988–1998) and later as Representative of Ilocos Norte’s 1st district. A lawyer and a fierce ally-turned-critic of the Marcoses, Fariñas was known for his sharp tongue, legal prowess, and colorful personal life.

As of this writing, no new evidence has surfaced. Vivian Velez is alive and living privately in the Philippines. Rudy Fariñas remains active in local politics but has aged out of frontline roles. The UP Diliman angle has been repeatedly debunked by the university’s archives, but the legend continues to be shared in Reddit threads and showbiz forums.
