Norman’s life changes when his estranged and eccentric uncle, Mr. Prenderghast, confronts him. Prenderghast shares Norman’s gift and reveals that he is the keeper of a sacred duty. He tells Norman that the ghost of the witch persecuted by the town is about to rise again. To prevent her from unleashing a curse, Norman must perform a ritual by reading from a special book—the story of Sleeping Beauty —at her grave before the sun sets on the anniversary of her death.
