The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) notes that domestic violence is a significant issue in the United States, with women of all backgrounds being affected. However, Latina women face unique challenges. According to the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS) conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 45.1% of Latina women have experienced some form of intimate partner violence (IPV) in their lifetime, including physical violence, sexual violence, and/or stalking.
Raising awareness about abuse within the Latina community is a critical step toward change.
